Here are 10 different ways to HELP YOU LOSE WEIGHT NATURALLY. Not using any magic pill or powder. Just making some changes to your lifestyle.
I get it, we all want to be healthy. And being overweight or obese can be a sign of poor health. Being overweight causes many health problems, including arthritis, diabetes, high blood pressure, body pain, etc. As well as not feeling 100% mentally, physically, and emotionally.
When we are confident in ourselves, we feel great. So, I challenge you to accomplish the body that you want. Not only because of the physical aspect, but most importantly for your HEALTH. Achieve that ideal weight and build habits that can become part of your lifestyle.
1. Stay hydrated. Drink plenty of healthy fluids.
Drinking water helps boost your metabolism, cleanse your body of waste, and acts as an appetite suppressant. It is recommended to drink 8 glasses of water a day. However, to make it more appetizing, I would recommend you to add some fruit, vegetables, or herbs to your water.
For example, you can prepare a gallon of water with your favorite fruits, and let the water absorb the natural flavor of the fruit.
Please, AVOID processed drinks and juices, including sodas, canned and box juices, and drinks with hidden sugar and chemicals.
INCLUDE more natural juices that you prepare using fresh fruits and vegetables, fruit smoothies, hot tea, etc.
2. MOVE your body
Exercising is not only important to maintain or lose weight. Most importantly, it is critical to preserve your mental and emotional health. When you exercise, your body releases chemicals called endorphins. These endorphins trigger a positive feeling in the body, similar to that of morphine.
It has been scientifically proven that people who exercise more often, feel better about themselves, have lower levels of depression, increase their self-esteem, and sleep better.
Find an exercise that you enjoy! Working out shouldn’t be something you hate doing or your feel force to do it. If you enjoy dancing, take a zumba class. If you like running, go and run a couple of times a week. Find the exercise you enjoy.
There are MANY types of exercise you can do, including: swimming, dancing, running, walking, cycling, weight lifting, aerobics, yoga, pilates, etc. See what feels right for your body.
3. Eat right (NO Processed Foods)
This is the most important aspect. You are what you eat, truly. I can’t emphasize enough the importance of eating fresh whole foods. And trying to avoid processed food that are mostly full of chemicals and preservatives that not only cause you to weight gain, but also lead to other diseases like cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes, etc.
I understand how hard it can be for someone to change their nutrition habits, especially if they were raised having an unhealthy diet. But please, take it day by day.

Don’t underestimate the importance of sleeping. Sleeping:
- Provides energy to brain and body
- Supports daytime performance
- Brain is active and dreams occur
- Eyes dart back and forth
- Body becomes immobile and relaxed, as muscles are turned off
Sleep helps us thrive by contributing to a healthy immune system, and can also balance our appetites by helping to regulate levels of the hormones ghrelin and leptin, which play a role in our feelings of hunger and fullness. So when we’re sleep deprived, we may feel the need to eat more, which can lead to weight gain.
5. Implement stress relive techniques
Being under stress can lead to insomnia, eating more, anxiety, fatigue, etc. This is why is important to implement different relaxation techniques to reduce the stress levels.
First, stress creates the desire to eat more. Second, stress triggers the release of hormones such as cortisol and betatrophin that increase abdominal fat and slow metabolism respectively. Third, fat-to-brain signaling appears to increase stress levels as part of a feedback loop that entrenches this vicious cycle.
Start by implementing meditation or mindfulness techniques into your life. There are plenty guided meditations online, or join a relaxation class at your nearest yoga studio. Also, exercising regularly decreases the stress levels in your body.
6. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Praise your accomplishments
This is one that I have to practice myself. It is okay to give into your cravings, especially if you have birthday parties or reunions. Praise your discipline and constant good habits instead of focusing on the negative aspects.
For example, praise the fact that you eat pretty good and exercise over the week, and do not give yourself a hard time for eating your favorite dessert over the weekend or when your body was asking for it. It’s all about finding that balance between your health and peace of mind.
7. Control your portions
I know, when you are hungry, you feel you can eat a whole cow, but can you really? Hunger enters through the eyes as well, as when we have some delicious food in front of us, we want it all. Try serving yourself realistic portions, not too little and not too much.
We have the tendency to finish what is on our plate. If you serve yourself too little, you might get hungry again very soon. And if you serve too much, you might overeat. Be honest with yourself and how much food you truly need.
8. Treat yourself
Treat yourself at least once a week. Go get your favorite meal, cake, dessert, etc. You deserve it!
Remember that it’s all about having a balance in your lifestyle. And we all have a life besides our normal routine. We all love eating out with our friends and family, attending birthday parties, etc. It’s okay to let go and enjoy the sweet things in life.
9. Take it day by day
It might seem overwhelming at the beggining with so much information and things you might have to change. But take it day by day. This is a process that doesn’t take a few days, we are talking about changing your lifestyle.
Start with one thing at a time until it becomes a habit, and then implement another habit little by little. See what works for you and create a new lifestyle, not only something you would do for a week and then forget about it.
10. Practice discipline
It is very important to be disciplined when you are trying to accomplish your goals. Ask yourself first: What’s my goal? It might be losing weight, maintaining my weight, or even gaining weight.
My personal goal is to be healthy and happy with myself. Regardless of my weight. I know some periods in my life, I’m going to probably gain weight and some others I might lose, and that is okay with me as long as I’m happy with my choices.
Whatever you goal is, be discipline with that you said you were going to do. If you said you were going to exercise three times a week, then DO IT! Tell yourself the specific days and times you are going to exercise, so that you are hold accountable. Do what you said you were going to do. Not only for maintaining a healthy lifestyle, but for everything you want to do in your life.
Reading this information might be a bit overwhelming, but trust me it works.
